I have a Cat 3126 in my motorhome. Is Delo 400 10W-40 sufficient for this engine? It appears is meets Cat's specs...but I am looking for some input or other suggestions.

I have been using Shell Rotella 15W-40. Readily available at Sam's Club, Wal Mart, Pep Boys etc. it is a premium Diesel Oil at a reasonable price. Her's some info!

We have 115,000 miles on our rig and since we've owned it, have used nothing but Shell Rotella. Oil analysis continue to show no problems.

just bought a 1992 affinity cc and has 88,000 miles on it and those that have owned it before me have put mobile 1 in it. Don't know if this is good or bad. I will have it checked on my next oil change.

I have a 2002 Tiffin with a 3126 Cat in it. After buying it last Nov. I changed all of the fluids and put in 15-40. After 4,500 miles this spring, I was having a miss in the engine under load after it warmed up. I had a mechanic tell me that it was a case of the oil setting in the engine stored in a WI winter, or the secondary oil pump that runs the injectors is bad to the tune of $1,600 installed. He changed the oil, put in 15-40 and down the interstate we went without any problems. After about 4,000 miles it happened again. I pulled into a Cat dealer and he told me I was running the wrong oil. He told me the 3126 Cat with the "oil rail" injector system recommends that you use 10W30 in temps between -4F and 104F. They changed the oil as a test with Cat 10W30. I currently have about 5,000 miles on and I am headed to Texas next week with hopes of no issues. I am in contact with the Cat dealer with updates as he is the first mechanic to say anything about this.
