Check engine

Check engine goes on when climbing moderate hills..i change the air filter and adjust the level of prestone....nô power loss...the light goes off when it is level...whatever else goes wrong?

The engine is a cummings diesel 340 hp....damon astoria 2008 with 40kmiles

There are a couple of dozen reasons for the Check Engine light to come on , and without retrieving the codes , it's a guessing game.
Many owners install a Scangauge D or Silver Leaf system to monitor their engines and retrieve and erase codes.

Sorry I don't have a link for the Silver leaf.

Also , if you go to your " User CP " and on the left side go to " Edit Signature " you can put you coaches info in and it will automatically appear on your posts and you won't have to type it in every time.

Did you add the Prestone to the overfill tank or take the cap off regular tank and fill up, then put cap back on?

had same problem with c7 cat.problem was my turbo was over boosti ng past 25psi which turning on engine lite

I finally had the answer.....i went at a truck center and check the problem.....and the turbo had to be replaced...the cost a bit more than 5 k....but nos everything working fine
