Dash Air Condenser Fan

Hello all,

Just had my A/C drier replaced and professionally re-charged. Now the condenser fan will not come on. Found one fuse under the dash, interior side. A 20amp fuse that checks good. No power at the pigtail connecting to the fan motor. Anyone know if their is another relay or fuse somewhere that would energize this fan?

Calling Freightliner today to see if they can help.

Thanks for any input.

Brian

Hi BDStinson,
Here is a Link to the "Evans controller". Yes there is a relay involved and an other fuse.
The relay is on the firewall (outside)

http://www.evanstempcon.com/guides_ccl.phpn

Then click on "electrical schematics"
Good luck, Siggy D.

I can't find the dang relay anywhere! Freightliner refers me to Fleetwood and Fleetwood refers me back to Freightliner, so no help there. I've looked all over the firewall and found nothing. If anybody knows where it is, please help!

Normaly the Motorhome builder installs the condensor fan and the relay.
Can you follow the wiring from the fan back to the relay.
Here is the link to the schematics again, since the other link does not work,
The "n" at the end has to be deleted, how it got there, I don't know.
The relay should be the standard 12volt/30 amp ice cube size,1 1/4'' cubed.
You may also follow the wires from the evans valve outside, temp control to the low AC pressure sensor to the relay.

Evans Tempcon, Inc
Then click on electrical schematics in the middle ,half way down the page.

After several attempts to trace the wiring, I finally located the relay. For any other Excursion owners (mine is a 2003), it's inside, under the dash. Remove the center panel, look behind two A/C ducts at the top. There is a bank of relays, the condenser fan is the third from the right. Replaced the relay and get 50F at the vent when parked. It was 95F here today. That fan drops the air temp. by about 20F. Victory at last :-)
