Dash Fan Resistor

Hello Everyone. I have a 2003 Itasca Horizon 34HD on Freightliner chassis. My dash fan will only operate on two speeds, low and high. I had taken it to freightliner a couple years ago, and they stated they could not get the proper resistor for the fan, so they worked some of their own magic (which didn't turn out very good) and got it operating.....kind of. Anyway, can someone direct me to the location of the fan resistor, and if there is a replacement part available, or a suitable substitute.

Thanks, John.

I second that Mr Wizzard. I too, (I'd bet even more reading this thread) would like to know where or, how the correct part was obtained just in case it happens to us.

You are both correct. I apologize. After some further searching, I came up with the following link, which is apparently the company who supplied the controls, etc. for the systems. Though the wiring shown in the schematic is somewhat different than my actual wiring, I believe I can correct the issue. I believe the problem does lies with the resistor, and believe I can order a new one through Lichenstein, Winnebago/parts dealer in Iowa. Here is the link to the manufacturer.

Evans Tempcon, Inc

I have also attached a picture, but it came out a little dark. Facing the front of the motor home, open the generator access hood, and look to the left on the firewall. The resistor is far left. (no wires going to mine in the picture since they are disconnected)

John.
