Does anyone know what type of diagnostic plug the 2004 Itasca Horizon with Commins isc has? Would like to get the VMSpc software and need to know.

Your best bet would be to find the diagnostic plug and confirm what you have. If I were to bet on it, I'd bet that it is round and covered by a gray cap. Ours was in an electrical compartment under the driver's seat and I finally found another in the engine box in the rear.

P.M. me if you want a picture of what mine looks like. I had the same problem locating the air manifold to add air horns - I couldn't find it until I figured out what it looked like.

Did you find your plug? I also have an '04 Horizon with the ISC 350. My plug is on the firewall close to the floor on the outside of a small box. It is to the left of the steering wheel and there is a switch beside the outlet which is marked " Idle inc/dec". It does have a gray cap and has room for 6 pins. As I recall there is also one in the engine bay to the left.

I am also thinking of getting the VMSpc as my engine has developed a hicup at odd times which may be a filter but could also be an injector which I imagine the VMSpc would tell me about.

Tell us how you got on.

Lindsey, VMSpc MAY tell you about a hiccup if a error code is being set. Otherwise, you may be able to see something by monitoring one of "gauges" in VMSpc that isn't available on your dash. I'm not sure that if your problem is an injector, VMSpc will provide any additional information to you, however. Eliminating other causes (things that do set error codes) may confirm your diagnoses.

The capability of monitoring plus the error code capture was my reason for getting VMSpc. I felt that the cost was comparable to buying and installing a turbo boost gauge. To me, monitoring boost and establishing a baseline for what to expect is a way of early detection of problems with the turbo and associated air flow piping.

I believe Freightliner put these plugs on the rear and also on the front of newer chassis. Coach builder determined their exact location. A call to Freightliner should give you the plug specs and if your coach has one or two.
