Difference between two Alliance fuel filters

Currently, my ISL 400 has an Alliance N122-R50419 fuel/water separator fuel filter and I'm having problems locating one locally. However I have found a N122-R50418 (one digit difference) and it looks identical.

Does anyone know if these two are interchangeable?

thx

Ron

It's an Alliance part (Freightliners house brand name), so you could always order one from Freightliner Custom Chassis itself, or one of their dealers. FCCC does sell direct.

Or this one on Ebay:
Alliance Brand Fuel Water Separator Part Number abp N122 R50419 | eBay

or the Baldwin equivalent at Baldwin Filter BF1373-SP Fuel Filter

I found out from someone over on rv.net that the difference is that the 50418 is 9 microns and the 50419 is 3 microns.

Not sure if that will make a big difference, but decided better to be safe than sorry. I'll return the 50418 that I purchased and order a 50419.

Thanks for the replies...sure appreciate it.

If your fuel system has two filters, the primary one is usually about 10 microns cause the fine mesh secondary will catch anything finer than that. If it was a single filter systems (used for a couple years around 2004-2005), the finer filter would be required. As far as I know, all 2011 chassis have two filter fuel systems, cause that's what Cummins specifies now.
