Exclamation Differential oil leak?

Freightliner diesel pusher differential oil leak? The tiny drop on ground is very thin like water, almost clear, a little yellow, not oily, not sticky, no smell. It looks like it is coming from top of differential? I thought the differential is never filled to the top? Could it be something else, rain water, water plumbing leak from house plumbing, AC line condensate, what else is up there, what do you think? 2008 Gulfstream Tourmaster Cummins ISC360.

Just a shot in the dark here.

Could be water from the air brake, relay valve.

Back before air dryers, it was common to see a bit of moisture in the poorly maintained air systems.

Have you drained your air tanks looking for water.

Just to be sure or to find out what is really in there you could drain it and refill it with fresh gear oil. If memory serves me correctly Freightliner recommends changing that fluid yearly.

For Detroit rear axles with petroleum-based oil, change the lubricant every 100,000
miles (160 900 km) or every 12 months, whichever comes first; if synthetic oil is used,
change the lubricant every 250,000 miles (402 250 km) or every 36 months,
whichever comes first. For Meritor rear axles with petroleum-based oil, change the
lubricant at 100,000 miles (160 900 km) or at 12 months of service, whichever comes
first, and every 24 months thereafter; if synthetic oil is used, change the lubricant
every 250,000 miles (402 250 km) or every 36 months, whichever comes first.

Well, from your description it is not gear oil, for sure! 80/90 W gear oil is very thick, and has a distinct smell! You can check the level of gear oil in your rear end by taking out the fill plug on the back cover, middle and a little over half way up, and if oil comes out, it is fine, if non comes out, stick your finger in and see how far down it is! It needs to be toped off if it is low!
You will have to crawl under and look and see what is above the rear end that could be leaking! A 2008 gulfstream will have a air dryer on the brake system! Also, your air bags are in need of some help! The one on the left of the pic is flat, and the other one is over inflated! But that could be that you have the air dumped, and just the way your coach is sitting on the levelers? Hope this helps! Rail!

out on a LIMB
condensation on the upper panel above the rear end, dripping.
or diff was hot and it got real cold out and condensation on top has run off a bit.

believe me the gear oil tastes/looks nothing like water and is slicker than greased owl snot

i changed my diff fluid last march...dont believe the f/l book, its actually almost 4 gallons or gear oil. my f/l book listed fluid capacity as 4.7 pints
i ran a full turkey pan over sure did smell good for a bit
