Can anyone tell me where the ECM is located on the Freightliner XC chassis - is it under the dash someplace or back in the engine compartment? I have an appointment tomorror to have mine reflashed and would like to be somewhat informed beforehand just in case the tech has to start looking for it. Thanks

There is a plug in connector that is located at the engine access, above the radiator if rear radiator chassis.

All the tech has to do is plug in his computer to this connector to reflash or do any thing else to the ECM program.

Lots of info stored in the ECM, really interesting. It is the "Big Brother" of your driving habits.

Thanks GStream - Didn't know whether or not I should also be getting some floor covering laid down for the mechanic to walk on. This soulds really great, nice relief also to know they won't have to be on the inside. Thanks again.

Just curious as to why they have to "reflash" the ECM.
