do you have an engine brake or an exhaust brake? these are often confused and the same simple terms, engine brake are used to describe each.... if it is in fact an engine brake or an exhaust brake its added... either at the time of chassis manufacturer or by the body builder.... UNLESS you have a Cummins Engine with a varible vane turbo... and that has the ability to reverse the vanes on the turbo and function as an exhaust brake....
If this is a factory, or body builder added engine brake or exhaust brake its either a Jacobs, or PacBrake.... as Cummins doesn't manufacture their own unit.... find out what brand you have... and get the correct manual based on the manufacturer and if its an exhaust brake or engine brake on their web sit....
If you have a butterfly in the exhaust stream.... you have an exhaust brake... if you have a switch on the dash that says.... OFF, 2, 4, 6..... or OFF, low High its most likely and engine brake and the switch tells you how many cylinders are being altered with the switch...
In almost all cases except for the variable vane turbo, there are circuits that have fuses... in the case of the variable vane turbo, its controlled from the ECM
