Greetings All,

We have a 2004 XC Evolution ISC 350 side radiator. When the engine is cold, the radiator fan will come on full speed. Freightliner of AZ (who has been wonderful) claims that they have never seen this one. The have tested it, and indeed it is "stuck" in the full on setting... until it decides not to be, and then functions normally. This is generally after an hour or so of operation.

Has anyone else experienced this? I was first clued into it when I noticed my trans temp not getting off of cold (it was due to the fan operating so much that it couldnt warm up).

At more than $900 for the parts and labor to replace the hydraulic controller (and only 8 days out of warranty! and FTL wouldnt budge) I'm hesitant to throw parts at it.

Thanks.

Buck,

I think the unit is made by Saur-Danfoss. You might want to try to call them. Their Website is www.sauer-danfoss.com.
I would suspect FTL is correct though, normally if it was just a "Simple" switch or somehting it just wouldn't work at all, or it would run ALL the time. Call Sauer and see what their tech support says.
