Downstream of Cruzer's
New Cummins ISC 360 Specs posting I found the letter below on the FCCC web site which provides a fair amount of detail of the 2008 chassis and engine changes. The specific information for the XC chassis is very interesting.

Freightliner Chassis Powered by Premium Engines in 2007
GAFFNEY, S.C-Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) is extremely proud
to offer its valued RV customers the CumminsŽ or Mercedes-BenzŽ engines for
2007. All engines exceed the 2007 Federal emission standards while providing
outstanding performance and reliability.
The Cummins ISB with 300 hp and 620 lb.-ft. of torque, powers the celebrated
FRED (front-engine diesel) and continues to be as quiet as gas engines while
offering up to 70% better fuel economy. In addition, the lowered engine position
on FRED eliminates the "dog house" typically found on the cockpit floor in gas
motorhomes.
The industry-leading XC chassis will offer the Mercedes 926 and three Cummins
engine models, the new 6.7L ISB, 8.3L ISC and the 8.9L ISL with a variety of
horsepower ratings.. There will be two ISB ratings at 300hp and 340hp that will
be coupled to the AllisonŽ 2000 series transmission, which will be available as
a six speed after April 2007. There will also be two more ratings for the new
6.7L ISB of 325hp and 350hp that will have a higher torque rating or 750 lb ft.
The Mercedes 926 will see a horsepower increase to 350 hp. The ISC will also see
an increase in horsepower to 360 hp and 1,050 lb.-ft. of torque. The ISL will be
available at ratings of 370, 400 and the new rating of 425 hp.
Standard with the EPA 2007 engines in the XC chassis will be the lowered engine
position that allows for a flat-floor rear bedroom and a lower center of gravity
for better ride and handling. In addition, for engines with a rear radiator, the
fan clutch will be standard. The fan clutch helps reduce engine noise and
significantly improves fuel economy.
The newly introduced Powerliner chassis will feature the Cummins ISM with 500
hp. Built for the luxury market, the Powerliner's engine features the highest
power-to-weight ratio in its class.
"The breadth of our product line and engine offerings makes us unique in the
marketplace," said Dean Schaper, director of sales and marketing at FCCC. "We
offer the most popular diesel engines out there with Cummins, and the
Mercedes-Benz engine, which continues to gain momentum. With these two
industry-leading engines, and the industry's largest service network backing
them up, customers are driven to consider a Freightliner Chassis."
Cummins, Inc., a global power leader, is a corporation of complementary business
