Freightliner customer service

I would like to give a BIG thanks to FCCC customer service for authorizing a replacement tire. I have a 2016 Newmar Ventana which wasn’t supposed to have a problem with the tag and drive wheel alignment. I didn’t receive a PIB notice from Newmar ( PIB #458 Tag axle alignment) as my coach vin number was not listed. But as luck has it I had a tag tire developing excess wear on the outside edge. Long story short I took in to the local Freightliner facility for the all wheel alignment. The tag and drive wheels were approximately 1/2” out of alignment with the chassis. I plead my case to FCCC, sent pictures and they covered the alignment cost. FCCC request that I closely monitor the tire for continued wear and provide pictures of further wear. I kept the emails with the case number and representative name just in case something happened. Recently I received a Field Service notice from FCCC ( SF546AB FCCC X-Line tag axle lock. Missing check valve on auxiliary air tank and air line retrofit) for my coach. This issue hasn’t been check out yet. I sent a email to the FCCC rep. identifying another issue with the tag wheels and my concerns about the tire on a planned long trip this summer. Today after a couple emails and pictures I got authorization for the local Freightliner dealer to replace the tire. Thanks to FCCC for doing the right thing.

Thank you for taking the time to report your excellent response from Freightliner. I too have had positive help from Freightliner and I am proud to be a Freightliner owner.

We often read when an owner has service they feel was not done correctly but I believe when things work out in our favor it does not get posted as often as it should.

I big advantage to Flnr help is that it is 24/7 operation. We used to own a coach that had help business hours during the week...with an hour, maybe more, shut down for lunch.

I'm really glad FCCC did the right thing for you, I'm still going round and round with them on a vibration issue. Problem has been since Dec of 2015... I've bought new tires(at their diagnosis) that didn't change a thing so we have a mechanical vibration issue. They tested and retested but I think our local service center just don't have the ability to correctly diagnose or fix the issue. Any way after much heartburn and frustration I'm still waiting on a solution. I have engaged Newmar since its a Dutchstar and they have been courteous and helpful but they almost act as if they have no influence with FCCC, again frustrating.

So if your are considering a motorhome and you have a freightliner vs another brand chassis, I'd opt for the other brand. I've had other FCCC chassis before with no issue but thats when their true color comes out when you do have a legit warranty issue that may be more difficult or expensive to fix and they don't take care of it- and so far they haven't. Out of 8 motorhomes this is first that either tires/wheels or driveshaft didn't fix the vibration - on this one they can't seem to find the issue, they made it they should be able to fix it.

If anyone has any advise I'd love to hear from you, I've been so dissapinted I've almost decided to sell and stop RVing, but we really love the RV in every other way and we really enjoy RVing.

JDB20;

So sorry to learn you have had this problem so long. I have a suggestion for you. Make an appointment with Freightliner's Oasis shop at Gaffney, SC. You could possibly tie it to gather with signing up for Camp Freightliner. Talk to anybody who has taken the 2 day course and they will tell you the instructor, Mike Cody, knows his stuff and they learned a lot. I have taken the course and I have been to their company owned shop and I left there very impressed with their service.

Hey Don
Thanks for the info. I have wanted to take it to Gaffney but at this point FCCC wants me to take a blank check down there to get what should be warranty work done and I just can't afford to do that after paying so much already on new ties, several tire center trips, etc. So hopefully they will do the right thing and approve me taking it down there so they can finish their warranty work.
Thanks again for the info, I'd love to go
