Does anyone know if I can obtain a new or used instrument cluster for my 1999 freightliner chassis/allegro bay pusher and just plug it in or will it need programmed?.. Freightliner in Jackson,MS wants 2400 dollars to replace mine ( 1700) for part and remainder for labor. I looked and it has a couple of plugs and a cable for speedometer and a cable for the tach. I could easily do it if it does not need programming. I also need to know can I just use a seperate oil gauge and pull wires from the sending unit to the front and put in a stand alone gauge?

Give the Freightliner Custom Chassis Service Center in Gaffney, SC., a call: (864) 206-8613. They can tell you and maybe help you find the part.
