We recently purchased an 07 Itasca Ellipse it has a toggle switch that lets the dashboard read out move from on thing to another. Our other coach had simple easy to read lights with labels it was an 02 Journey. In reading the Freightliner owners manual about the info available by moving the toggle it looks very confusing, there are several pages of flow charts. Has anyone mastered this or is there an easy way to figure it out or does it just take practice and patience???

It takes patience, but the flow chart works. I have owned mine for 4 years now, and I really like the selectability of the choices.

I struggled with mine at first as well. When I attended Camp Freightliner, one of the handouts was a LBCU simulator that can be installed on your computer. It's remarkably close to the real thing and allowed me to play with all the settings until I got the hang of it. After that, the flow charts were all I needed to get the settings I wanted.

Agree that there is a tremendous amount of USEFUL information. I have mine set to toggle through my 'pre launch' checklist and then show today's gas mileage, leg gas mileage and today's distance on the screen while I'm driving.
The best feature I like is that I can monitor the fuel economy for the whole trip vs. today's fuel economy.

Do you know if that computer program is still available?

We are scheduled to attend next July 18-19, but it would be nice to have a copy of that program to practice before the class. So you know if it is available?
I think I will send a note to Freightliner and ask also, thanks for the heads up.

Can't say if it's still available, but I suggest checking with Mike Cody at Freightliner in Gaffney.

We attended Camp Freightliner in September and received the Dash CD. It is VERY helpful. (The cd AND the class!)

Just play with it, you can't hurt anything. I like to keep the instant fuel economy showing and it is amazing how much better economy you can get making a game out of a light foot.
When just driving I get between high 8s to low 9s. When I run the game fuel economy hovers between 11 and 12 mpg. Without the game I'd spool up just before hills and muscle over, game on I spool up on every slight dip then just before the crest lighten up and always manage to get over at the speed limit. It has a dramatic effect of fuel economy.

I was attempting to reset the MPG and all of a sudden I lost the reading. Now I don't have any reading pertaining to MPG! I looked through the manual and it doesn't mention a mileage setting so I don't know how to get it back! Joe

It was frustrating at first. When I parked it I was not plugging into 110v. The batteries would go down (had a bad battery) and when I went and started it the display (Clock, etc.,) would have to be reset. I would have to wait until the next CG to get out the book and find the chart for the reset of the clock, etc. Since I don't have to do that anymore I cannot remember how to get into the system so I would have to drag the book out again.
As stated, you cannot (should not) be playing with this going down the highway. There is a lot of information that can be toggled in the dash. Everyone has there own preference. I have, total miles, Avg MPG, and eng. Temp. displayed in my unit.
Dear Lord, give me patience and I want it RIGHT NOW!

Is there a simple way to have everything go back to the factory display? Thanks, Joe
