Has anyone had a full chassis/ engine service performed at a Camping World? Is there any price advantage in doing so? I also need to have my Onan 7.5K diesel genset serviced.

I went in for a chassis lube once. While the tech was under the coach I asked him to check the rear axle fluid. He said he wasn't allowed to do that. Since then I've taken it to a truck service center.

I wouldn't let them touch the chassis of my coach. I stopped for something else and asked the shop if they had any test strips to check my SCA level. Nobody in the shop even knew what I was talking about, yet they offer coolant change service.

I brought my Dynasty to a CW in Greenwood, Indiana for an Oil change both Engine and Generator as well as a Chassis Lube. They charged me for the service about $300.
I fortunately checked what they had done. Oil was low not changed and Dirty, Filters were not changed and no Fittings were Greased. I went back and spoke to the service manager who looked at the Dust on the Generator Filter proving it had not been changed. When my Coach was brought back in the Tech said the he must have forgotten ( he did check the Coolant with a strip, I lost the Cap later that week since he failed to tighten it). I also asked him about the Chassis Lube he said he was very careful about the U-Joints and Slip Yoke. When I parked my Coach I crawled underneath and checked what I could on the Grease Fittings, none were touched.
The next day I returned expressed my anger at the Fraud, I was offered a Re-do with the same Tech (their only Diesel Tech) I refused that.
I demanded and was given a REFUND IN FULL. This was after I talked about the misrepresentation and Theft they had committed.
I had the same service done in Cummins of Elkhart and was very pleased.
I posted this incident in November on this Forum.
I also e-mailed the CEO of Camping World Marcus A. Lemonis which resulted in a call from the Service manager named Mark who I had dealt with at Greenwood CW. He basically said that he refunded my money, what more do I expect? How about an Apology for the original Theft of my $300 even though they refunded it? I guess they feel that since the money was refunded because I Caught them all was well and Peachy Good. I had never left their parking lot or I might have been accused of driving it a few thousand miles since the day before.
I never Heard did from Marcus A. Lemonis again.
Barrier
I would NEVER get any Service Done at a Camping World!

I had my a lube and oil change done at camping World La Mirada Calif.
The tech crawled all over and under my coach. He even went into the bedroom to lift the bed up and grease a hard to get at fan pully zirk fitting thats only accessable there.
But I asked him about an air filter change and he said they dont do that. So there service is very limited and very dependent on the quality of the tech. you get and attitude of the establishment itself.
I was extremely pleased with MY sevice and if I return ask for this tech. by name.
$199.00 lube and oil up tp 20 qts.

We have 2 camping worlds in Vegas. One is the regular store that has some service available, oil changes, minor service work. The other is supposed to be able to do major service work. After reading these posts, I'll go to Freightliner for my work.

The Camping World just outside of Columbia SC did a horrible job on my coach. They put in 20 qts of oil when my engine and filter only holds 16 qts. I had to manually drain 4 quarts of oil out. I was too mad to take it back. I would not take my mower in for service at Camping World. Find a local Freightliner service center. They are cheaper and know what they are doing.

Man Lee, I would have been even madder after trying to drain 4 quarts of oil. I've got a suggestion on where you could dispose of the four quarts....naw, that wouldn't be nice.

Look at the thread, DEALING WITH CAMPING WORLD, That should give you an idea of the work they do. There is a web site called rvsevicereview that rates service centers by people that have used their service. It is too bad that Camping World has the reputation they have for any type of service. They are missing a golden opportunity to capture all the RV service business.
