Question for you guys that may have went already. I have a service appointment scheduled for the first day of the class as well. It is for 0800 as well. Will Freightliner let me spend the night in the parking lot the day before the class so I can get the rig in for service before the class starts??

There are about 20 electric sites at the Gaffney service center and a dump station and water faucet. It is FREE. Yes you can stay and because of weather a few years ago we stayed two extra days.

SargeW, I attended Camp Freightliner last March and it was probably the best money spent on this coach. You will come out of there on information overload but you have all of the material to keep with you. I too had service done and went in the day before and left the day after.

If you belong to the Freightliner Owners Club, an FMCA chapter, you get a discount on parts there.

SargeW, We are headed for Gaffney in the morning! We are in the Oct 13th session. We have reservations at Pinecone Campground, but we will check the Gaffney Freightliner sites first. I heard Pinecone has more longterm folks there. I'm going to the class, the coach is going in for M3, and Norma's going shopping! I guess we'll look for a kennel for Princee for the day.

One evening before you leave Gaffney, go north on Rt 11 about 8 miles to the Rt 11 Cafe. It will be on the left side of the road. Melt in your mouth steaks at prices you haven't seen in years. Closed on Mondays

Big shopping center one exit south. You don't even have get back on the interstate, just take the service road.

Don't expect a lot out of Pinecone (especially the water pressure) and you won't be disappointed.

Hey thanks for all the great tips! I'm looking forward to the class too, but the DW would rather have a root canal that sit through it!
We may need to explore the Cafe on the way out of town.

I don't think the parking will accommodate your rig. It's just on old roadside general store type building that been converted into a cafe. Not much to look at but the food sure is good. Ice cold drinks and cookies on the porch if you have a wait. If you get there early, they are open on Sunday.

I had a great time and learned some things at Camp Freightliner. It was nice to meet you Sarge. This class is something that All Freightliner Chassis owners would get something out of.

I couldn't agree more Jim. What a class operation! As long as I'm on the road full timing I will be using Gaffney for my service needs if I am anywhere semi close. I recommend them highly.
