Since I have had no occasion to drive at night, I just discovered

I understand that the headlights are part of the National RV package, I have been told that the headlight wiring is provided by Freightliner.

If you don't find the problem in the fuses, a bad multifunction switch (if your MH is so equipped) can cause some weird symptoms as well.

The headlights will likely have a circuit breaker, usually the type that auto-resets after a short interval. That way you always get your headlights back, at least temporarily.
