UPDATE:
Well, I got tired of the Winni Techs saying it was a Freightliner problem fixed, and Freightliner had it and couldn't fix it. So I went to an independent Automotive (Taylor Automotive in Dickinson, TX) garage and asked them to look at it. I gave them my take, after reading the forums, about the blue vacuum line going to the damper rod in the outside under hood compartment. I indicated that it could be because the damper door was partly opening. Anyhow, they were extremely nice to work with. After all the checking with their gauges, finding nothing wrong with the freon, and more troubleshooting, the did find:::::
A split on the line going to under the dash vacuum controller.
We made the trip from Texas City to Kerrville, TX, about 312 miles today, and the dash air blew cold air all the way. I have a IR Thermometer and I would stick it in the center small dash outlet and get 37, and sometimes less, degrees. The further vent on the driver side would blow 47 degrees. (Must be warm coming across that vent). Miya, the dog, would put her paws up on the dash, placing her belly on the middle passenger vent. After a few minutes of that she was down, and the belly was cold, cold.
Tomorrow is a 245 mile trip to warmer Texas area. We'll see what happens.
I still have not put up a dividing curtain. It's still on the list of things I might do.
