How much AC coolant??

Have coach in for routine maintenance, mechanic is topping off the AC unit but the tag that tells how much it holds is blank. Can anyone help?

2013 Tuscany 42X

You should be able to find the information here:

Evans Tempcon > Troubleshooting, Diagnosis and Repair > Refrigerant Charge Information - R134A Systems

A good AC tech would not have to know how much is required

X2.
The only time the total capacity # is required would be for a completely discharged system .
Top up; if necessary; would be done after a check with the proper gauges, and be a fraction of the total capacity.
Is the system is working at all ?

Thanks everyone!!

Thanks to all the replies, the wealth of knowledge here is amazing.

The coach has a leak and was empty of 134a. Filling it did not help though, but the AC posts further down gave me a wealth of things to check. Once again a new system to learn about, first time with AC trouble.

If the system was empty , two tests should have been run before any R134A was added .
1. Pressure tested with nitrogen , then check for leaks with a sniffer.
2. Vacuum test for an hour, removes the nitrogen and acts as a double check it no nitrogen leaks were found.
But a lot of shops choose to go the expensive route ( for the customer )on an empty system of installing the R134A with the leak detection dye .

From my Denso service manual, a Freightliner chassis holds 3.8lbs. It varies as to chassis build and OEM a/c unit.
