How to use Peak's Final Charge Coolant in 2016 ISX15 / Replacement Low Coolant Probe?

Hi - Hoping someone might have a solution. I would very much like to switch to Peak's Final Charge extended life coolant, yet I have without success searched IRV2 and the web for an UPDATED solution for a low level coolant probe part number that WILL work with extended life coolants, such as Peak's Final Charge, in a 2016 ISX15 engine.

FCCC currently uses extended life coolant in the new X15 engine on 2018 chassis', yet state using any extended life coolant in one of their ISX15's will cause the low coolant level sensor probe to fail, cause engine warning lights and eventually "leave you on the side of the road".

Any proven solution out there yet??? THANK YOU, Jeff... 2016 ISX15

Can't answer your question, but I was wondering if you found this statement in writing from Freightliner? Hard to believe that after many years ELC have been in use, they don't have a workable probe?

Interesting because I just got a low coolant warning on my ISX on a DynoMax (Country Coach) chassis even though the coolant level is correct. Coolant was changed in 2015 when the engine was rebuilt by Cummins and they used Fleetguard ES Complete OAT EG coolant.
Have a new sensor waiting in case I need to replace the one in there now.

Bigd9 - agree there should be a workable probe available. Nothing in writing, but called and spoke to two different FCCC help desk reps who said no solution. Also, when I searched this forum, a nearly identical post from back in 2015 stated the same info - FCCC said "no"

Mr. D - PERHAPS the new extended life coolant caused your probe to fail...?

Wonder if had the level actually gone down, whether or not the existing probe would have detected it...?

If the current probe would detect actual low coolant, and fail after a few years, sounds like simply replacing the existing probe would be workable - again, only if the existing probe is capable of detecting low extended life coolant. A close friend of mine stated that may be the issue... the existing probe might not be able to detect actual low level IN extended life coolant...???

PLEASE let us know what you find. THANK YOU!

2016 coolant will still be good for years. Change it out when it near it's end of its life cycle. Newer coolants are the best you can use. Save yourself, time and expenses.

I ran into this issue on my 2014 ISL. FCCC stated that I need to continue using EG Fully Formulated with SCA's coolant to keep the sensors happy. Problem was that the Cummins engine is compatable with the ELC coolants and that's what Cummins shop wanted to replace with. Even the FTL shop I deal with didn't completely understand the requirement. Also, don't wait until "life cycle" requires coolant change. Check SCA's regularly. Mine was depleted after 4 years and 35,000 miles.

The coolant in these beasts is very confusing. For my DD, the engine people say use ELC, as do all their manuals....but the engine is shipped to Freightliner without coolant, and Freightliner put in standard ethylene glycol. Sometime it's hard to figure out what is in what.

Fleetgard Antifreeze Data

https://www.cumminsfiltration.com/si..._TB03-05-2.pdf

Since I don't know what Red antifreeze I now have I found this interesting

Seems they are OK with mixing current antifreeze

Your thoughts after reading would be interesting

Coolant is put in by the chassis manufacturer, not Cummins.
