I Have The Highest Mileage Freightliner Chassis!

In another thread here I posted about my digital odometer resetting itself to Zero.

Today I decided to check the MMDC display to see if I can determine if something is wrong there.

Yes...I'd say there's something wrong. Check it out...13 MILLION miles!

If that's the case then your transmission is due for servicing.
Saw your post on 3-4 shifting and couldn't resist.

Edit: with 3 different , possibly related electronic problems , odometer , shifting and this, I'm sensing a trend. How well do you know this Murphy fellow.

I had a thought on your problems while on the freeway driving home today.
I know keep your mind on your driving.

I think there is a software issue, in you data collection module, the speed sensors count the output shaft revolutions of the transmission, factor in differential gear ratio , and tire RPM; Revolutions Per Mile , to calculate the speed and distance. I'll bet the module is only doing part of calculations not dividing the total by the tire RPM, giving you a mileage figure that's about 540x what it should be . ( 540 is the RPM of my coach tires).
So if you divide the mileage shown by your tires RPMs I thing you'll come up with a nearly correct # for your actual mileage.
Just a thought.

I looked into that , BUT they wanted the same, amount for the policy, as upgrading the coach every 3 years would cost.
At my age it wasn't worth it. Figure I've only got 12 years left.

Houston, we have a problem...
Since we live in the age of Infallible Machinery, it's obvious to me that your RV went to Saturn without you. I must say it found a really efficient route, since distance is generally given as 746 million miles. A round trip of only 13 million is one for the record books!

My best advice is to calculate the mileage/fuel savings, submit to Guinness, write a book, go on the talk show circuit, and become so Filthy Rich that you never have to bother looking at a mileage meter again.
