This "FILTER" is between the MH3000 and the plastic resivor. This "filter" is not listed in the Allison book, not that I could find. Is this a filter or a?????
Any ideas....

Well, the MH3000 is your transmission, but I'm not sure what you are refering to. Can you clarify your description a little more??

I believe the plastic reservoir you refer to is the reservoir for your power steering (filled with red hydraulic fluid). I believe Freightliner added a filter for the power steering fluid system some chassis.

Scratch, I think smlranger is right about the reservoir being for your power steering. Given that, the item you are seeing is most likely the 25 micron filter that Freightliner installs in many of their chassis.

On my unit that filter's p/n is 14-16028-000 (a FL#).
