I am wiping down my instrument area (detailing the dash) when my rag accidentally hit my turn signal arm. Not realizing this I continued cleaning the guages etc. when my neighbor came over and said you know your turn signal is blinking? What, that cannot be. The key is not in the ignition. When I went to the turn signal arm sure enough my rag must have bumped it in the turn position. Do your turn signals work without the key in the ignition on a Freightliner chassis? I know they did not on my former coach with a Freightliner but maybe this newer coach is different? Please let me know if I have a problem. Thanks

Mine do not unless the ignition is the accessory or on position.

Just tried it on the new coach. No key in ignition and the signals went on. Must be a change from the older coaches. Good question for FL.

As do mine. My 18 month old grandson discovered this for me. He loves to turn buttons and switches when we're parked.

Best Regards!

I was just testing a toad hookup over the weekend and the turn signals on ours don't work unless the ignition switch is on

Yep, mine also. Below is a link to a noise maker for us who need them. It's a way to help us know we have the signal on...

Excellent link Dick I believe the beeper can be located right up on the dash with longer leads. My hearing is not so great anymore, just ask the DW

I have had this one installed in our RV since 2004. Freightliner provided a wire pigtail for plugging the turn signal flasher and I simply fished it back up into the driver's compartment and plugged in the new flasher. The alarm resets with the flasher so if you are parked someplace with a turn signal on, it can be annoying. That said, I haven't left the turn signal on since I installed it, even when I'm playing the dash stereo.
