Opening question:
Does anyone know which, if any, of the Koni FSD shocks will work on a 2001 freightliner x line chassis?

I have recently purchased a 2001 Allegro Bus 37TP with the CAT 3126. Needs suspension refresh for sure... Thought I would start with the shocks. It is built on a Freightliner X Line chassis. The select list form Koni only contains drop-downs for the newer chassis, and I am unfamiliar which XC set-up is comparable to the X Line. I am new to the board and was unsure if this would be a Tiffin post or a Freightliner post... Opted for the chassis board, hope this is okay.

Closing question:
Anything else I should check to revitalize tracking and ride quality?

While changing out the shocks I will also evaluate sway bar condition and steering slop. Bags seem to hold pressure fine.

For those interested...
I Contacted Koni, they referred me to Precisionframe.com who advised that the Koni 8805-1020 for front and 8805-1022 would be the correct FSD shocks for my 2001 freightliner xc chassis. Link they gave me also had a bell crank and motion control units on it. I seems there is an endless supply of ride improvements out there!

I had my suspension work done at Brazel's in Centralia, WA. I know they do quite a bit of traveling. You may want to give them a call and talk to Kris, Al or Jon. See what they have to say. IMO I would also look at a steering stabilizer.

Steering slop can also come from incorrect adjustment of steering box. This is something most shops do not want to touch. Several of us on this forum have adjusted the steering box with good results. Just be sure you don't over-tighten.

Thanks Fred, I did see those posts. There is so much good info floating around on these boards. I actually had slop check on top of the list till I started reading about steering stabilizers and such. I'll make sure I do a check for slop on a test drive after I update the shocks, before I install the steering stabilizer... Whew this is a lot of work, but worth every minute!
