My coach came equipped with a LCD "Information Center" screen that is mounted so low, that I can't read it unless I get on my knees. The service rep. where I bought my rig said the screen was useless. It does appear to have some good functions, but again, if you can't read the screen, what good is it?
Today I started the coach to move it, and two alarms came on. One advising me that my air pressure was low, and the other said "Check Info Center". I let the engine idle for a couple of minutes to let the air pressure build up, and that alarm re-set. The "Check Info Center" light was still illuminated though. I got down on my knees, and the info center screen said:
AUTO IDLE
12.1 Volts
Threshold
13.4V
I disengaged the parking brake and put the transmission in drive. The "Check Info Center" light went away, as well as the flashing alarm on the info center screen.
First of all, does anyone use this dim wit....I mean dim lit info center screen?
Is it normal for air pressure to drop significantly after being parked for only three days?
Lastly, what the heck is "Auto Idle"?

Craig,
Can't help you on the specifics, however --
Freightliner had a program for an upgrade to the computer display for $75. They recognized that the display was not visible. Act quickly, as this promo may end soon.
Auto idle is a mode the ECM goes into when you first start the engine to raise the idle up while it is sitting to warm it up.

Sorry - missed this one.
On the air pressure to drop in 3 days -- I say not. I had a drop in air pressure in my 07 Journey, causing the air pressure to bleed out in less than 12 hours. Freightliner found 2 leaks.
My old coach would keep air pressure for weeks.

Thanks Don. I'll contact Freightliner re: the LCD display, and have the air system looked at as well.

Per Freightliner, the offer ended October 1st. The upgrade will now run about $200.
