Levelers and Steps Stopped Working

2007 Freightliner M2 Dynaquest, HWH 325 Levelers and Kwikee 42 Steps. Took the RV to Tom Johnson's (first mistake) to fix the cab step lights. When I got it back the Levelers do not work at all. No lights on the leveler control panel. When I extend the bump out, a couple lights come on but only while extending. The electric step will not auto retract when the ignition is on, otherwise work fine.

I'm assuming it is something in the ignition wiring? I have checked ALL fuses I could find, house, chassis, etc.

Any guesses?

I'd take it back to the shop, but assuming the reason you posted the problem is because the shop is a long travel, I'd call them, explain the situation and ask what you could check yourself.

Unless they really screwed up the wiring while doing the lights, the only thing I can think of they have in common would be "ground." Might want to check your connections there.

As far as the leveler panel, you can easily do some basic checking. If like most, it's held on by a screw at each corner, and removing those should allow you to GENTLY pull it out. On the back there are several cables that you might make sure are tight, there is also a fuse that you can check. Your HWH manual has diagrams.

The fact that your steps work fine other than the ignition auto-retract says the motor is fine and it's getting power. The step manual has a lot of diagnostic tips. One note: be very careful working on the steps so you don't get slammed or pinched by opening/closing it.

For now I've just run another hot wire from the ignition to the dead hot wire on the control box. Temporary fix for the Levelers and bump out.

I also have. DynaQuest on Freightliner chassis. Could you tell me where to find exterior light fuses?

Is there a switch somewhere that controls the steps? Also check the contacts on the door jamb, make sure they are clean
