Main and aux disconnect switches not working

On my 2006 fleetwood expedition, the two switches that shut down all power from the house and chassis batteries don't work. One time a couple years ago I pushed the aux battery switch and could never get it back on. Therefore could start engine. I went to the fuses boxes under dash and started switching relays and checking fuses. Well something I did worked However the switches do not work anymore. Therefore Cannot shut down for long term storage. Any suggestions.

Those switches activate a set of solenoid relays in your Battery control Center(BCC) located beside the inverter. I would think you could rig yourself a couple of manual switches that would activate or deactivate those solenoids.

If all you did under the dash was move relays and check fuses, I can't see this correcting the problem. If indeed there was a bad relay and you moved it, something else should have failed as a result.

Find your disconnect solenoids and locate the small terminal on each that will have 12v power. Disconnecting that wire should disengage the relay. This should get you by until you can get it properly diagnosed and repaired.

For future reference, this is not a Freightliner chassis question. The disconnect switches and relays are installed by the coach builder, Fleetwood in this case.

The power to operate the house disconnect relay is usually an independent wire to the house battery. That's because once the power is off, the relay needs an independent source of 12v to turn it back on again.
