The Tiffin Phaeton is available withthe Mercedes MBE 926. Tiffin makes a great coach but they're advertising and website are always way behind. Everyone get's the latest Tiffin info on the
TiffinRVnetwork forum.
The owners of these RVs seem to really love them. The MBE has more get up and go and better fuel economy than the Cat. It is a no cost option and many are choosing it. ACtually, in the 2008 model year it'll be a moot point because Freightliner will drop the Cat C7 from their RV chassis and only offer MBE or Cummins. The MBE 926 will be the only engine you get in the Phaeton chassis in 2008. Actually, the 20087 model year will get the new emissions spec engines. The torque will drop to 860 ft-lbs and the horsepower will go up to 350 HP. Fuel economy should be unaffected.
They'll still offer the Cummins ISB in the smaller chassis, like the FREDs and the 400 ISL in the side radiator Freightliner XC but the rear radiator XC will no loner have the Cat.
