Hello,
I am planning to pull a 16 ft car-hauler trailer w/two axle brakes. I have a 2008 40' Phaeton on a Freightliner chasis. Does anyone out there know if there's a place (perhaps under the dash) that has a connection for a brake controller which may go to the dingy receptical (used for the stop/tail lights) at the rear of the coach? Any help is appreciated.
Dave

We have a 2006 39' Coachmen on a Custom Freghtliner chassis and it had a plug under the dash for a contoller. I hooked up a controller for aux brakes on a toad. Spent several hours upside down under the dash looking for the plug but finally found it!! It should be located someplace near the steering column and is probably tied up inside of a bundle of wires.!

Tiffin had Freightliner put the plug under the dash behind the instruments. Unfortunately, they did not leave the plug empty. They used at least the power and ground lines for other behind the dash functions. I have the cable colors, and plug configuration, but it is in a .PDF file and I don't know how to attach it in this forum. If you PM me with your email address, I'd be glad to send it to you. Once you locate the plug, you can splice your brake controller into the wires without a problem.

The easiest way to find and access the plug is to remove the screws holding the dash instrument backing in the dash and pull it forward. Beats standing on your head.
