Freightliner has dropped the Cat from it's RV chassis as of the 2008 model year run. Instead the Cummins ISC 360 replaces it, although the MBE 926 is also available. These engines are used in the Phaeton chassis as well as a number of other rear radiator Freightliner XC chassis. The new ULSD spec 360 ISC puts out 360 HP and 1,050 ft-lbs of torque. The 6 page spec sheet for this engine (including details on the emissions gear) is uploaded to the RV Tech Library atThis Link

Heard about CAT being dropped by FCCC in various forums a while ago and immediately felt like an orphan. This is now more motiviation for me to use my CAT dealer for chassis PM in the future.

ISC 360 is a whopping 8.3 litres. No wonder it has so much torque. Will be really nice for towing and hills.

Based on the tidbits I've come across for Winnebago based XC offerings the MBE 926 effectively replaced the CAT C7 while the Cummins ISB continues. The MBE 926 will be the new baseline motor for the Evolution Chassis used for Tour/Ellipse with the ISC 360 as the upgrade. For Evolution Chassis w/ IFS for Vectra/Horizon the ISC 360 will be the base and ISL 400 will continue as the upgrade. (IMHO)
