Owners of 2007 & 2008 Freightliner chassis input needed

2007 freightliner raised rail chassis with 350 hp cat vs 2008 freightliner raised rail chassis with a 360 hp cummins.

I am thinking of upgrading to a DP.

I have been looking at 2007 and 2008 models (various builders).

I see Freightliner switched from the 350hp cat to a 360hp cummins from 2007 to 2008.

I also see there is a torqe difference.

I am looking for any input from actual owners who drive the above models.

Pros?
Cons?
Satisfaction?
Disatisfaction?

TIA,

Sureco, Welcome to IRV2. This is the exact type of question you need to take to the guys on the Wednesday night Freightliner chatroom. Several Cummins/freightliner owners will be present for you to chat one on one with. I doubt there is a question you can bring to these boys that they won't provide a very opinionated answer!

Check the Chatroom icon on the top banner, go to chat room float and then select the Freightliner chat room anytime after 9:00PM EST every wednesday evening.

Also 1-800-FTL-help, there is a wonderful resource of Freighliner personel 24/7. They will ask your serial number first thing. Explain your situation and I'm sure they can help.

If I can help in any way, PM anytime.....

The 2007 Cat C7 in its RV form produced 350 Hp and 860 lb-ft of torque at 1440 RPMs. Governed top speed is 2400.

The Cummins ISC in RV configuration produces 360 Hp and 1050 lb-ft of torque at 1400 rpms. Governed top speed is 2200.

Both are excellent engines. Perfromance is going to be essentially the same, because both produce nearly identical horsepower at nearly identical RPMs. The Cummins may have a slight edge at the starting line because of the higher torque at minimum rpms, but gearing probably masks that anyway.

I can't think of any reason to choose one over the other, but I haven't owned a C7 or an ISC to give a personal opinion. I have the larger Cummins ISL, which is nearby at 370 hp but 1200 lb-ft of torque.
