Parameter changes for exhaust break

My wife and I have a 2016 Tuscany 40'. While at Freightliner the tech suggested we have the parameters changed so that our exhaust break kicks in sooner. We live in the Seattle area and frequently are traveling over the mountains. He thought ours was a little delayed compared to others he's worked on. Has any one had theirs changed?

Not sure what parameter he is talking about. The engine or exhaust brake "kicks in" when the accelerator is at zero and you touch the brake pedal. It downshifts to a pre-designated gear, and that gear (it's usually either 4th or 2nd) is a parameter that can be changed by the engine/tranny programming. I don't know what the settings are for yours - you might call FCCC and ask (1-800-FTL-HELP and have your VIN handy).

Based on your year, you mush have a cummins, that engine has a Jake Brake. Go read up on it.
Maybe he was talking about the transmission shift points. Now that will make a difference
