After driving for a while and getting off the highway, I have noticed a sound when turning on low speed street curves. It sounds like a power steering noise. I am a newbe at diesel, so do I take it to Freightliner or Cat place? Is the noise indicative of a problem with the belt?

I believe there is a recall on the steering mechanism? Call freightliner with your vin and they can tell you over the phone.

I'd call Freightliner first. CAT provides the engine, but not necessarily the accessory devices.

I have experienced this noise also, but never while turning normal street curves.
Usually while making sharper low speed turns. As cranking hard to turn into a campsite/driveway etc. I asked about it and was told this was normal.
What you describe does not seem normal,
