I've just received an email from Daimler denying my request to join the Freightliner Custom Chassis Owners club. What to you have to do to get accepted?

I filled out the request on their website and received an email that I would have to get a local dealer to approve my request or Freightliner would do it through their channels. I chose the latter route and now a couple of weeks later I get the denial email.

I've sent them an email asking why I was denied and explaining that my skill level was certainly not going to take away business from Freightliner. I just want to have access to information about my chassis.

How did you join?

If you can't find out, keep in mind there's a Freightliner Chat session scheduled @ 5:00 PM Eastern here on our Chat Room with a Freightliner representative.

fputnam, May I please take a shot at this? 1st are you a member of FMCA? I know that some OE Clubs require you be a member of the FMCA 1st, then you can join the club. I am not 100% positive about how the FCOC runs their membership but it's a possibility.

I got another email from Daimler later this afternoon. It contained another form asking for the same information I provided on their online registration form with the exception of "Date Purchased" and "Mileage at Purchase". Per their instructions I filled out the form and faxed it to them.

The problem appears to be that the only time my chassis was registered was by the original dealer "Vacation Station". So when I give them my VID Daimler says "nope, it's already registered to someone else".

Here's hoping the faxed form works, even though they don't ask for any proof of purchase information.

I had to fax "proof of ownership" to F/liner to change ownership to me into their system. Next day a nice email from Daimler saying "thanks for the info" it's changed..

As said above FMCA membership is a prerequisite for membership in FCCC, I would fax a copy of my vehicle registration. Once you are accepted you can apply for the Chrysler discount .

OK, I just tried to register and join. The screen that wanted info wanted State and zip, but didn't have a place to put in that info. I will try again later.

Update - I've been away on a hiking trip for a week and am now just getting back into the mix. My update is that Freightliner had me resend the info again. Then they called me to confirm. Turns out that somewhere along the way a "9" had been entered as a "5" in the VIN and that's what was causing the confusion.

I can now access the build information and manuals for my Freightliner chassis.

Thanks for your help.
