I stoped at Tom Nehl freightliner to have my exaust brake looked at. After five hours they couldn't figure it out. They left some elrctrical panels open and they cut a hole in my storage unit to access a fuse panel that could be accessed from underneath. My question is aren't they suppose to ask permision to cut a whole in your storage unit before they do it? Has anyone else ever had this done?

What I have found is that the function of the exhaust brake is for the most part a Cummins and a Allison issue.

I'd be screaming if folks started cutting holes.

You should do a review of rvservicereviews.com and let the dealer know that you did and of your dissatisfaction. You can also contact Freightliner as they have a customer service quality assurance rep. Unfortunately Freightliner can't do much about it other they notify the dealer as each dealer is a franchise.

I put over 60K on an '07 FL chassis in just under 3yrs.and have found that nearly all of the FL dealers-[oasis too] are not interested in fixing a MH chassis.I have spent days-really days sitting in dealer lots waiting for some one to 'look at' what may be wrong w/my coach. You are far better off finding out on your own which part/parts are bad/broken and seek help from that particular mfg.at their shop--engine,trans etc. As for chassis problems I prefer a private repair shop that wants to fix it and has mechanics, not computer geeks that can't or don't want to get dirty.

Or go to the Freightliner Custom Chassis Factory Service Center in Gafney, SC. They only do motorhome chassis there, and they won't let you down.

Never heard of someone cutting a hole in a compartment. If you are close to Canton Ohio Young Freightliner is the best I have used. It is not a fancy Oasis but they do quality work.
