Just completed a 7000 mile trip and I am happy with the cummins/5sp allison combination as we averaged 9mpg cruising at 65mph. I am however not happy with the ride. I did all the right things weighed all 4 corners and adjusted tire pressure to Goodyears chart and set the ride height to specs from Freightliner. I only have about 10k miles on DP but would like to know is there anthing else I can do to help the ride? Shocks?

Warren, I would contact Freightliner Custom Chassis and express your concerns. Here is why.
- when my RV (xcs chassis) was built, there was a service bulletin to install a handling ride package. It was only available to those owners who complained within the warranty period.
- We didn't buy ours until it was long out of warranty but I've gotten all the parts of the package on anyway. The difference in ride and handling is amazing.

One would have thought that Freightliner would have learned from the XCS experience and engineered the ride in the new XCS models based on that experience but.... sometimes decisions are made financially.

Are the Goodyears G670's? If so your better off than most of us with Michelins.

Koni FSD shocks and Super Steer Motion Control seem to be the two big changes many folks are making. Both are well discussed in this forum.
