Winnebago coach, Winnebago fix. Freightliner would only have parts for frame and suspension if they made the chassis. Does the Winnebago factory do major repairs? They'd be the only one with the sheet metal already formed. A really good metal shop could also do the job, but finding one is a real crap shoot.

I have a 2008 Winnebago Destination. The front windshiled started leaking on our last trip when in heavy rains. It is still under warranty. I put it in the shop and the service tech that is to work on it stated that this is a common problems with Winnebago. He also stated that when he was finished working on it that it would never leak again. I asked for that in writing and he changed that to as long as he is alive it would be guaranteed.
Apparently the Winnebago coach has some problems with rust. Don't forget that Winnebago gets only the rail and motor assembly and put there own box on it.
Let us know what you find out. A good body man should be able to fix it for you.

I had a new passenger side windshield replaced in Forest City last year on my 2004 and they added a charge to me beyond what the insurance paid for the glass replacement to grind out the rust from the glass channel and repair with fiberglass (I think). Undoubtedly the rubber molding around the windshield does nothing to keep water out of the windshield channel, which in turn continues to rust regardless of what the owner can do.
As was stated above, this is just one more Winnebago catastrophe that should have been eliminated with better design. Don't know how bad it can get if you never have a windshield replaced to be able to see all the rust.
I keep wondering when or if the glass will just fall out some day.

Thanks, I dread the process I am about to undertake.

We had a leak at the top of the passenger side windshield in 2007 due to water apparently leaking past a clearance lamp gasket, and then sitting on top of the metal windshield frame. After it rusted enough, it began to leak. We had it repaired at a Winnie dealer. They sub contracted a local glass place to do the glass work. After the old glass was out, their body shop re-habbed and primed the metal frame before the new glass was glued in. That one spot was really the only area where the metal was in bad shape. I found all the clearance lamp gaskets were badly deteriorated. Since then, I inspect and reseal the clearance lamps at least twice a year.
