I replaced the low performance factory Sachs shocks on my '05 XC Winnebago Journey two years and 10K
miles ago. I wanted to just tell everyone it looks like it was a great investment.

A lot of folks had complained the ride with new Koni's was too harsh and some even took them off. To be sure I too had some misgivings at first as there was some annoying road feedback on the front axle on relatively smooth concrete freeways, especially when the fuel tank was low and the front axle was lighter.

However, after about 1000 miles it was like the shocks broke in. They have been performing flawlessly ever since and, combined with Super Steer bell crank, Super Steer proportioning valves, and Blue Ox Tru Center this rig handles beautifully.

Thanks for this testimonial. I've got to replace my shocks before next spring and have been trying to decide which ones to buy. The Koni's seem to be the most expensive. I'm been wondering if they are worth the difference in money over the Bilsteins.

Konis were worth the difference when I put them on a 02 gasser..Wish the Diesel had them.

I've got the same stuff on my '06 XC chassis except that I have the Safe T Plus instead of the True Center. With proper tire inflation, I have the smoothest quietest ride that I ever have had. My Konis have made the rounds of the Smokes, the Rockies and the great Northwest as far as Seattle. I have about 14,000 miles on mine. You still have to slow down on some of these rotten interstates where there is 2 inches difference between slabs (either that or carry you family dentist with you to reattach your fillings), but front end dive on braking is history, unless you lock em up, then it's minimal. I think they have been worth the money.

Well, are the KONI'S worth the money on my F 53 chassis ?
I just don't have enough miles on the MH, just 10 600 miles, to change now to KONI'S?!!? Who knows how long we'll keep this MH?

RVgreetings
