Speedo mileage recording incorrectly

I have a 2002 Bounder on a Freightliner with a 5.9L Cummins. This past weekend I went down to Tucson dragstrip from Mesa AZ. It's a 133 mile one way trip. Mileage recorded was over 240 miles. Speedo was showing correct miles per hour. Seem to record correctly on the way back. Anyone ever seen this before?

Welcome to iRV2.

133 miles = 236 kilometers ( approx)

The odometers in the Freightliner dash can be switched back and forth by holding the trip reset button for three seconds , instead of the momentary flick of the reset to clear the trip readout.

Sounds like you inadvertently switched the display back and forth.

Skip426, thanks. We're headed into Canada next month and this will be helpful.

Entering Canada with your RV , take all your coaches measurements , convert them to metric and tape a note with them on it to your dash board.

Nothing worse than approaching a low under pass and seeing it's height posted only in metric and you don't know if you can clear 3.5M.

I did exactly that when making our trip through Canada last year. A little effort beforehand eliminates a lot of worry later!

I did check it out and that was the problem. Didn't even know I had such a thing. I have a friend with a 2004 Expedition on a Freightliner and he didn't know it existed either. Thanks for your help!
