I have a 2008 Forest River Motorhome on a Freightliner chassis and my stop lights aren't working. I have checked the fuse panels located on the left side of the home in front of the front tire and can't find one for stop/brake lights. Is there another fuse location?

I have a 2004 Winnebago Journey on a Freightliner chassis that had the same brake light problem. On our unit the electrical box where the fuse is located is in a metal cabinet located in the front where the generator is located. A diagram was available which named and located each fuse. However, it was not the fuse. The brake petal activates both an air valve and an electrical switch. This mechanism is located just under the brake pedal and accessed from underneath the MH. The nut that holds the brake light wire had loosened. I tightened it up and it was fixed. SteveG

Look in one of the rear compartments forward or just behind the rear wheels. The power circuit brakers box you're looking for is around 6x8". On the 05 Diesel Bounders it was in the compartment with the MMDC computer on the right side behind the wheel, and in the 08 Allegro Bus it's just above the generator control panel and shore power switch just behind the left rear wheel. There'll be 4 screws holding the cover on and circuit designations on the inside of the cover.

Freightliner will be able to tell you the size of the box and how big a lead was on it, but the coach manufacturer actually decides exactly where it will be located.

The is also a diode located under the dash in the brake line that has been known to burn out. If you go to the Freightliner Custom Chassis Club site you will be able to fine a feed for the information on the diode.

I have a relay near the chassis battery that can become corroded and make poor contact. I found it when I turned my emergency flashers on and heard the relay. Just clean the contacts.
