I have a 99 DSDP with the cat 300 hp engine. I need to throw in some oil but really can't figure out how to top it off. It does not seem to go down the dip stick tube so where does it go. Sounds stupid but I looked and can't figure it out.
thanks
Jim

I am talking Oil, and thanks to the tradewinds post but my DSDP has the side radiator so I do not have that in the way. There is something at the lower right that does not seem to have a cap that comes off easily so I do not think that is it. Nothing seems obvious to me. After 10K mi down a quart does not seem too bad, that is why I have not looked for it to date.

The Cat 300 takes about 23 Quarts of oil at change time, so I think 1 Quart low is in the noise.
Should be about time for a oil change anyway.

But he doesn't know where to put the new oil in, after draining the old.

And he may not want to pay over $200 to have someone else change it.

Miles is miles

10K is enough to change Oil one way or the other.
Perhaps pay this time and watch close.

There will be an oil fill opening somewhere and Freightliner usually puts it right next to the dipstick. However, you can pour it down the dipstick tube if you have to. It's just a slow and laborious way to do it.

Can you post a picture of your layout? Maybe somebody can spot the oil filler tube for you.

Geez, I hope you find the fill before you change your oil, 26 quarts down the dip stick tube will take till Valentine's Day.
