does anyone know if some wheres under the dash, there may be lurking a pigtail to plug in a brake controller, or is back to the stone age and source all my connections.
my chassis has the 7 pin connector at the receiver hitch, so i assume there is a brake feed some where up front right

Not sure about your particular MH ....... on ours there was a pigtail up high directly behind the steering column, under the dash. I was looking for a connector with nothing plugged in it. There was already a mating pigtail plugged in with bare ends to connect to the brake control harness.

The location of the plug under the dash will vary by coachmaker and what sort of a day the electrician who assembled the area was having. Freightliner furnishes a six pin plug, with 5 active wires going to it as follows:
Pin A-Red/white-Brake signal from foot
Pin B-Brown-Lights
Pin C-Red/White-Brake signal to tow plug
Pin D-Red-12v power
Pin E-Black-Ground
Pin F-Unused
There are 10 pins on the line connected to the 7 point tow plug connector.
Eight of them are used and 2 open.
The plug under the dash may have been tapped by your coach builder so you may find it occupied with some pin lines going to other places. If this is yours you just have to splice into the correct lines.

I found mine zip-tied to the topside of the bracket above the pedals. You could not see it from the bottom. I ended up removing the dash pannel to find it.
