On our 2001 National Tradewinds on a Freightliner chassis, when I turn on my hazard lights (flashers), my taillights and parking lights light up but don't blink. The indicators on the dash are on solid (not blinking). When I turn on the turn signals, nothing lights up either on the outside or the dash indicators.

I have not been able to locate a blown fuse or the small round part that clicks (is normally under the dash on a car--sorry can't remember what it's called) that causes the signals to blink.

Has anyone had this problem that knows where it's located?

"turn signal flasher"

Larry, you may be like me and be looking for a silver round metal relay. Did you have the beep-beep when it flashed? If so it may look more like an electrical plug or it may be a square/rectangular dark plastic piece. I don't have a clue where it might be however.

A call to FL customer service may provide you some information.

Jim,
Thanks for the heads-ups on the black plug or dark square/rectangular plastice piece. I'll look for that.

Larry

Thanks again, Jim. I found the problem. 2001 electrical panel is below the driver on the outside. I checked all fuses and they were fine. Then, I pulled off the top of two different black boxes and found fuses underneath. One was blown which corrected the problem. The cover of the black box shows it is supposed to be a 30 amp fuse, but was evidently replaced by the former owner with a 10 amp. Directional lights and hazard lights both work now.

Thanks again.

Happy Trails,
Larry

I'm glad you solved your problem Larry and of course without the services of a $100+ per hour tech. BTW...where should I send my invoice?
Since you're in Dallas, you really ought to check out the Texas Boomers.
