Can't find anything on search,

Is there a VIN decoder for Freightliner Chassis like for autos

Also Is there a way to find any work performed on the chassis like the Ford OASIS.

I'm new to the DP world and still a bit overwhelmed with trying to learn what I can.

I have 27K miles, will probably have 30K service done in Gaffney. Still wondering what all will need to be done.

Doesn't help me. The decoder is saturated with "no data," for my VIN.

Still a nice piece of information if it works for other VIN numbers.

As long as you have this what else is there?
Tips & Warnings

  • The first three digits of a VIN identify the country where the vehicle was manufactured, the manufacturer and the make.
  • The next five digits identify the vehicle using codes specific to the manufacturer.
  • The ninth digit is a check digit to prevent fraud.
  • The tenth and eleventh digits identify the year and the location of the manufacturing plant.
  • The remaining digits are the vehicle's serial number.
  • VIN codes use numerals "0" to "9" and letters "A" through "Z" minus "I," "O" and "Q." All letters must be in upper case. Most decoders don't work if you enter lowercase letter

This is the part that will vary:
The next five digits identify the vehicle using codes specific to the manufacturer.
This will be your RV manufacturers codes for the type of motorhome you have. You really should already know that.

The VIN probably won't tell you anything you don't already know. For a FL motorhome chassis, it will tell you that the chassis type is 2x4 and XC chassis, the engine model (ISB or ISC on your Journey), the model year and that is was built in Gafney, SC.

If you join the Freightliner Chassis Owners Club (FCOC) you can download the VIN decode here:

Gary,
I looked at the chart and it is inconclusive in my opinion. My VIN starts with: 4UZACJDT38CZ.

I'm okay up through 4UZA. There is no CJ or DT designation or a few others. Most likely it is because that chart is outdated and only goes though 2007 model.

I bet the chart gave the OP that started this tread a answer to his question.

You may want to start one of your own, for your problem.

I'm sorry that I offended you, as appears. I don't have a problem though, just a factual statement that the chart only goes up to 2007. It may assist someone else with a later model from going to the web site.

For just general basics, one can check out any number of web sites for VIN identification. Example: Gates VIN Decoder)
