Wait to start icon lit

Our motorhome is a 2014 isb on a freightliner xcr chassis. We have never driven it at temps below 40 degrees or so. Last week before I put the key in the ignition or even turned the chassis batteries on I noticed the wait to start icon on the LBCU was lit. The temp outside was over 80 degrees. I have never seen that icon lit before. I connected the batteries, the icon was still on, and started the engine. The icon immediately went off. Any ideas?

Not withstanding a mechanical issue, it is possible that you have a bad LCBU. Freightliner is aware. When you call them they will put you on a list to have it replaced if under warranty. As of Feb 8th, they should be released any day.

Thanks, I'll check that out. I wonder if that would be under a special policy since I'm out of the 3-year warranty.

It wouldn't hurt to ask.....i can't excuse the thought of a bad glow plug though.

I believe my model came with a manifold heater rather than glow plugs, and since the icon is lit before I connect the batteries or put the key in the ignition I have to think it is something electrical or in the LBCU also.
