I did a visual inspection of the knuckle pins and I think I have decided that my Tour on the Freightliner Custom Chassis has ABP axles, not Meritor. Can anyone back this up for me so that I can make sure I use the correct grease for the IM chassis lubrication. Also, does anyone else know of any other special type of grease that I need besides NGLI grade 1 or 2?

I suggest that your best source of information about the various sub-suppliers of you chassis is Freightliner Custom Chassis. With the last 6 digits of your VIN, they will tell you who the supplier was for every one of your chassis components. You may indeed have ABP axles.

Our RV does have Meritor axles and Meritor air brake components. The Meritor slack adjusters should have a special clay based grease which I got from Meritor. If you do discover that you have ABP axles, calling them directly should confirm the lubrication types requires for their components.
