Why do we need to lower the suspension when putting the jacks down? And what happens If you don't lower It, because I forget most of the times. Joe.

Two reasons, first by lowering the rig there is more travel available for the jacks which is helpful when the site is a bit more uneven.
Second, it places the step closer to the ground for easier use.

And no harm if you don't do it.

Thanks, from me too. I had the same question and never could get an answer. I sometimes forget when extending the jacks; however, I have noticed that I hear air excaping when I dont expell the air first... wonder if there is an auto air release.

The air ride leveling will continue to work as long as you have air available. This would not be a problem as long as all 4 corners are higher than normal ride height.
However, if a corner was lower, the air ride will "fight" the jack until air is depleated.
This may not be a completely accurate description, but you get the point.

My Tradewinds only has an automatic air release so I don't have to think about it.

"You have no air dump switch, but your suspension
has an auto dump that works in conjunction with your
jack system. It is not imperative to dump the air bags
for storage or parking because the coach will settle
on its own. On the other hand, If you feel that you
want to dump it you can always manually lower the
jacks “just enough” to activate the bags to dump."

?????
My 2001 7390 has the air ride release lever right next to the leveling controls and I was told that you should always release the air before using the jacks..

Mine does not have an air ride release lever as it has an auto dump. Most Tradewinds had the lever.
