Dear New Horizons Friends
It has been six months since I last wrote you all, and I know many of you are wondering how things are at New Horizons. WE ARE STILL HERE AND IN BUSINESS. Things continue to be challenging, but we are seeing signs that the worst is behind the U.S. economy and us as well.
We have put our initiative to sell through dealers on hold--at least for now. What we found was most of the dealers could not get financing to floor plan the units we would sell them. So, we are redoubling our efforts to sell factory direct. We are getting some orders now and inquiries have increased substantially.
The real news is that while business was slow we decided it was time to improve or product. So, we have completed a new generation New Horizons prototype. It is awesome!! The first showing was at "The Rally" in New Mexico in April and it was literally the talk of the show. The attention it gained also caught the eye of Trailer Life publisher, Bob Livingston, who asked us to bring it to California for another cover article (our 3rd). We are thrilled at that exposure, and Karen and I leave next week to take it to California.
In designing the 2010 which we are calling the Majestic, our staff looked at every component of the unit and asked the question, "Is it the industry best?" If it was not, we changed it. As a result, here are a few of the new features: 102" wide-body design, 6'8" bedroom height, 6'5" slide-out height, lower main floor height so you only need 3 steps to enter, double insulation in the ceiling, ducted air conditioning (by Carrier), basements that are 44" tall, beautifully painted exteriors, hydraulic slide outs that allow 17' slide length (with strong, quiet operation), cedar lined wardrobe closets, dual furnaces and a/c for zoned comfort, furniture by Homestyle Industries that is fabulous, holding tanks are no longer mounted under the chassis--but in it, and much more.
If you would like to see some pictures, they are on our
website. If you have been thinking about a new unit, now is the best time to buy. We have four Majestics in production, but we are working hard to make the pricing attractive to fill our backlog and can offer attractive financing terms with today's low interest rates. And, yes, we still will build our 96" wide units as well.
Finally, I hope that this email finds you well and enjoying your New Horizons.
Sincerely yours
Phil Brokenicky,
