Flapping Topper Awning

FWIW...
For years, I've been bothered by the topper (awning) on my slideout flapping so violently in high winds that I often had to pull the slide in, and/or reposition my rig.
Finally, however, I've found my answer!
I purchased a set of 2 tetherballs at WM (but only one of which would hold air - you know how it is with that made-in-China WM xxxx!) I inflated the good terther ball only just enough to make slight contact w/the topper when set up on the slide roof. I set the ladder up, placed the ball in position, then ran the tether line down the side and secured it to one of the rails under the slide.
No more flapping!! We had severe winds yesterday out here at Bouse, AZ and it was like "Serenity Now!"
And when I'm ready to move, it requires just a slight tug on the tether, and the ball pops out and falls right into my hands. No need for the ladder when removing it.
And a piece of Scotch Tape, sticky side out, over the Retract button is extra insurance that I won't forget to remove the ball before retracting the slide.
Hope this helps someone.

Hey, that's a neat idea. Thanks for the tip.

My original one did that. I think it caused it's demise. The new one seems to be under more tension and doesn't flap like the old one. It is just fine here near Bouse. Yeah I'm here too.
