well most MH generator installations end up tying a fuel line into the existing vehicle fuel tank, This means that the generator will match the MH fuel type. Adding a second tank isn't impossible but can be a challenge.

We have a NH Travel Trailer with a Cummins/Onan 8K Diesel generator and a 35 gallon fuel tank mounted under the floor rear of the 3rd axle between the spare tire and the 100lb. Propane tank. A picture wouldn't show much as everything is enclosed. It exhausts out the back of the TT. Bryan at NH did a great job fitting it all in place. I'm sure if you called him he could give you some advise on location as you will have to keep your weights balanced. We absolutely love this generator, it is very powerful and very quiet and really good on fuel usage.

Our 2014 New Horizons 5th wheel has a 5500 watt Cummins/Onan generator. We opted for propane. It works extremely well. Here are the pros and cons from our view:

- Convenience of carrying only one fuel
- reduced generator maintenance with proane (no carburetor fuel bowl so no need to drain it dry for storage)
- Easy starting because the propane comes "pre-vaporized"

- Generator uses a lot of fuel, so when a fill-up is needed, propane is not as easy as gas or diesel. NH uses 40 lb propane tanks, so its a heavy job without a second person.

But in any case it sure is nice to just press a button at the side of the road to get power.

As an aside, I would strongly recommend getting an Inverter and good batteries so you have power full-time, and just run the generator to run the air conditioners or re-charge the batteries. Even though the generator is very quiet, its still nice to have the silence most of the time and not have to run the big generator to watch TV all evening.
